Delete My Account

You can delete your Circus account at any time. Once deleted, your account cannot be recovered.

Before you delete: Account deletion is permanent. Your profile, posts, and follower relationships cannot be restored after deletion. If you want a copy of your data first, request an export before deleting.

How to delete your account

Option 1 — In the Circus app

Open Circus and go to Settings
Tap Account
Tap Delete account and read the confirmation screen
Enter your password to confirm, then tap Delete permanently

Option 2 — By email

If you don’t have access to the app, send a request from your registered email address to privacy@circus.app with the subject “Account deletion request”. Include your registered email. We will verify your identity and process the deletion within 5 business days.

What happens to your data

Immediate — Your profile and follower relationships are removed. Your account is no longer accessible or searchable.

Within 30 days — Your posts, profile photo, and personal data are removed from active systems. Content you’ve created is deleted.

Within 90 days — Your data is purged from backup systems. After this point, recovery is not possible under any circumstances.

Retained 7 years — Payment records (amounts, dates, descriptions) are retained to meet financial reporting and tax obligations. This is a legal requirement.

What may persist

Content you have posted in communities that other users have interacted with (e.g. commented on or shared) may persist in those interactions but will be dissociated from your profile — your identity will be removed from it. This is a necessary consequence of the way social interactions work.

Creator accounts

If you are a creator with an active community, we strongly recommend notifying your audience before deleting your account. Any pending creator payout balance at the time of deletion will be processed in the next payment cycle before the account is removed.
