Everything you need to know about Circus — for creators, fans, and brands.
Circus is a social platform built specifically for creators and their fan communities. It gives creators a dedicated space to share content, post video, and monetize their audience — without the noise of a general-purpose feed.
Circus will be free to download and use when it launches. Our revenue model is in development — we are not planning a subscription to use the app. Fans will be able to join communities, follow creators, and access free content at no cost. Creators will be able to offer paid access to exclusive content, live events, and tips for fans who want a deeper connection.
Circus is launching on iOS (iPhone and iPad) and Android. A web experience will follow.
Most social platforms are built around a centralized algorithmic feed. Circus is built around communities — dedicated spaces owned and governed by creators. Your feed shows what the communities you've joined have posted, in order. No algorithmic surprises.
Circus's launch regions will be announced closer to launch. Sign up at circus.app to be notified when we go live in your country.
Circus is pre-launch. When the app is available, creators download the Circus creator app and set up their community directly — no application required. The creator app gives you everything you need to run your community, including posting tools, analytics, and monetization when it launches.
The Circus Creator Fund is coming soon. We're building a revenue-sharing model for creators — details and terms will be published before launch. Free to use until then.
Creator payments are in development and not yet available. When the Circus Creator Fund launches, payout schedule and methods will be published in the Creator Agreement.
Circus prohibits illegal content, content that sexualizes minors, harassment, and coordinated inauthentic behavior. Adult content may be permitted on approved accounts with appropriate age-gating. Full details are in our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
Creator accounts are planned to include an analytics dashboard (views, engagement, revenue), content scheduling, community polls, and pinned posts. Tooling will expand after launch.
No follower count, no minimum earnings, no approval process. When the app launches, anyone can download the Circus creator app and start building their community. We believe everyone who wants to build a community should be able to.
At launch, Circus is planned to support text posts, images, videos (up to 60 seconds), polls, versus (head-to-head comparison) posts, and GIFs. Creators will also be able to schedule posts in advance and pin content to the top of their community. Long-form video and audio formats are on the roadmap.
You will set the standards for your community — remove posts, warn or ban members, pin announcements, and define what's acceptable in your space. Platform-wide enforcement will run through our automated moderation stack, with escalation paths for serious issues. Creator moderation tools will be available in community settings when the app launches.
When the app is available, tap the three-dot menu on any post, comment, or profile and select "Report". Choose the category that best describes the issue. Reports will be reviewed as quickly as possible, and you'll receive a notification when action has been taken. Until launch, email safety@circus.app or use the report form.
We aim to review all reports within 24 hours. Reports involving potential harm to a person — including self-harm, threats, or CSAM — are escalated immediately and prioritized.
We cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement. We require valid legal process (subpoena, court order, or search warrant) for most requests. In emergencies involving imminent risk to life, we may voluntarily disclose limited information. See our Law Enforcement page for full details.
We use Apple's App Store Declared Age Capability and Google Play's declared age requirements, which prompt users to confirm their age before downloading the app. During signup, we also use date-of-birth declaration and behavioral signals to assess age. Accounts suspected of being underage are flagged for review and suspended until resolved.
Circus has zero tolerance for CSAM. Before user uploads go live, uploaded media will be scanned using our automated moderation stack, including AWS Rekognition and other hash- and ML-based filters. Confirmed CSAM will be removed immediately, accounts will be suspended, and CSAM will be reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline and equivalent authorities as required by law. There are no exceptions.
As a creator, you will have tools to keep your community safe: approve new members before they join, set keyword filters to auto-hide comments, mute or ban individuals, and restrict who can send you direct messages. You will also be able to set your community to invite-only at any time. For serious violations, use the in-app report function when available, or the report form now. See the Moderation page for full details.
Account recovery is handled manually by our team. Email support@circus.app with your account email or phone number and a brief description of the issue and we'll help you regain access.
First, check the status page — if there's a known incident, sit tight. If status is green, force-quit the app, make sure you're on the latest version, and try again. Still stuck? Email support@circus.app with your device, OS version, and what you were doing when it broke. We respond within one business day.
Check spam, then check whether your email provider blocks transactional senders. Reset links are valid for 30 minutes; verification links for 24 hours. If you've requested several in a row, only the most recent one works. Still nothing? Email support@circus.app from your registered address and include your account email or phone number.
Account suspensions and content removals can both be appealed within 30 days. When the app is available, use Settings → Account → Appeals if you can sign in, or email support@circus.app with your account email or phone number and a brief description of why you think the decision was wrong. We aim to resolve appeals within 5 business days.
When the app is available, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. You can also request deletion now via the delete account page. Account deletion is permanent and removes all your content and data from our active systems within 30 days. Some data may be retained in backups for up to 90 days before being purged.
You can request a full export of your data from the request my data page. When the app is available, you will also be able to start an export from Settings → Privacy → Download Your Data. We'll prepare your archive and send a download link to your registered email address — within 30 days under GDPR, or 45 days under CCPA/CPRA.
When the app launches, posts you made in a community will remain there after you leave unless you delete them before leaving. You will be able to delete individual posts from your profile at any time.
Yes. When the app launches, you will be able to sign up with just an email address. A phone number will be optional and can be added later for account recovery.
If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake, you can submit an appeal within 30 days of the decision. When the app is available, use Settings → Account → Content Appeals, or email support@circus.app. We aim to resolve appeals within 5 business days.
Circus requires users to be at least 16 years old globally. Creator monetization — tips and exclusive paid content — is restricted to eligible creator accounts who are 18 or older. We use Apple and Google declared age capabilities at signup to enforce these requirements.
Our primary format is the Sponsored Post — a native post that appears in the Discover feed, clearly labeled as sponsored. It uses the same structure as a regular community post so it fits naturally in context. Additional formats are in development. See the full Advertiser Guide for the current spec.
Content on Circus passes through automated filters — hash tables, ML text classification, AWS Comprehend, and AWS Rekognition — before reaching a feed. Human review scales with volume as the platform grows. See the full moderation policy for details.
Circus is launching with creators and their fan communities, sports clubs and their supporters, and universities and their student bodies. These are intentional audiences — people who joined a community on purpose, not assembled from behavioral signals.
Book a call with the team or send a message. We respond to every advertiser inquiry. If you're a brand or agency interested in reaching Circus communities, we'd like to hear from you — the earlier the better.
