How we use your data

What we collect and why
Your account information
Name, email, date of birth. Used to create your account and identify you on the platform. Kept as long as your account is active.
Your content
Posts, comments, profile photos. Shown to other users as you intend. Deleted content is removed within 30 days of account deletion.
Payment information
Processed by our payment provider. We store transaction records (amount, date, what was purchased) but never your card numbers or full payment details.
Device & connection data
IP address, device type, OS version. Used for security, fraud prevention, and diagnosing technical issues. Kept for 90 days.
Usage data
How long you view each post (viewtime), how you interact with content (likes, comments, shares, saves, follows), your feed position when interactions occur, session duration, and feature usage patterns. This data is used only in aggregate to understand what’s working and to improve the platform — we are not building a profile to sell, and raw interaction data is never shared with third parties.
Moderation records
Reports you make or receive, content removal decisions, and appeals. Used for safety enforcement, appeals, and legal obligations. Retained for a minimum of 2 years.
Direct messages
End-to-end encrypted. We cannot read your messages. Message metadata (who, when) is retained for security purposes only.
What we don’t do
- Share your data with advertising networks
- Use your content to train AI models without your explicit consent
- Track you across other websites or apps

Your controls
You have meaningful control over your data on Circus:
- Change your privacy settings in the app
- Download a copy of your data
- Delete your account at any time
- Opt out of analytics and personalization
- Withdraw consent for marketing emails
