Refund Policy
Effective 1 January 2026 · Last updated 27 May 2026
Pre-launch notice: Circus is currently in pre-launch. Paid features are not yet available. This policy will come into effect when paid features launch.
Overview
This Refund Policy explains your cancellation and refund rights when you make payments on Circus — including paid content purchased from creators. Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection law.
Circus is operated by Circus Corporation, a Delaware C corporation. Depending on where you live, different consumer rights laws may apply to your purchase. This policy is written to comply with the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2, Competition and Consumer Act 2010), and other applicable law.
Paid content
Paid content includes exclusive posts, collections, and other creator-gated content that members purchase access to.
Refund eligibility
Paid content purchases are generally non-refundable once accessed, as they constitute digital content delivered immediately upon purchase. Exceptions apply where: the purchase was made fraudulently without your authorization; a technical failure on Circus’s part prevented access; or applicable law requires a refund. If you believe a purchase was unauthorized or you could not access content you paid for, contact us promptly at support@circus.app.
14-day right to cancel (UK and EU consumers)
If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom or European Union, you have a right to cancel a paid content purchase within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (UK) and the Consumer Rights Directive (EU), provided you have not yet accessed the content. Once you begin accessing the digital content, the right to cancel is waived in accordance with the applicable digital content exemption. Contact us at support@circus.app to exercise your right to cancel.
Australian Consumer Law
If you are in Australia, our products and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. For digital services, this means we must provide the service with due care and skill and that it is fit for the purpose we say it is. Please contact support@circus.app if you believe a purchase has not met these guarantees.
How to request a refund
To request a refund, please contact us at support@circus.app with:
- Your account email address.
- A description of what you purchased and when.
- The reason for your refund request.
We aim to respond to all refund requests within 5 business days. Approved refunds are processed to your original payment method and typically appear within 5–10 business days depending on your payment provider.
Chargebacks
If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card provider without first contacting Circus, we reserve the right to suspend your account pending investigation. We encourage you to contact us directly — we are committed to resolving refund disputes fairly and quickly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or via in-app notification. Continued use of paid features after notification constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
